Description
A vermouth from Switzerland, 70cl, based on a herbal mixture from pharmaceutical pioneer Gustav Dieterich, Pinot Noir from the Zurich Gold Coast and sweet wine from southern France.
The herbs include vermouth and iva (musk yarrow) from Switzerland, galanga and ginger from the tropics and bitter almond oil from Spain. The recipe was originally intended for medicinal purposes and therefore had a somewhat bitter note. After a long period of experimentation, the decision was made to blend this vermouth wine with sweet wines from southern France. This was already common practice before industrial sugar came along, but it became too complicated.
Vermouth de Gents is therefore based on a “traditional method”. It is ideal for enjoyment without any additional additions and is particularly good in Negroni and its variations.
