Metzger House 1888

Metzger was founded in Basel in 1888 and developed into one of Switzerland's largest shirt manufacturers, supplying private customers, institutions, and the Swiss army.

While personalities such as Hermann Hesse, C. G. Jung, Meret Oppenheim, and Jean Tinguely shaped the city of Basel, Metzger flourished as Basel's renowned shirt manufacturer – and likely clothed some of them.

Production ceased in the 1990s, but the legacy lives on.
